USA Road Trip 2007 - Day 1 (Las Vegas, Red Rock Canyon)

  Açıklama : Left Kansas City at 6:40am after waking up at 5:00. Got to Las Vegas at 7:30 and picked up the Enterprise Hire Car -- Nissan Sentra. Drove up the Strip at amazement. Got to Red Rock Canyon at about 10:00am and cruised around the scenic drive, stopping numerous times. The Canyon is well worth a visit and was a great introduction to the kind of landscapes we would be seeing over the next few days. Went back to Vegas at about 16:00 to grab a buffet dinner at the Flamingo Casino. The Flamingo has all you can eat crab legs and shrimps Friday though Sunday as well as many other cuisines. It was fantastic and left us full up for the rest of the day and into the next. We started towards Hoover Dam at about 18:30. There was free parking after crossing over the dam which lets you stop and walk back across. The walk across the dam is well worth it and leaning over the edge in the middle is unbelievable. We returned to the car (running from huge quantities of bugs) at 20:00 for the drive to the Historic Route 66 Motel (Seligman). We arrived at the Motel at around 23:00 and stayed for about $50
